The Teacher Union/s and Department of Basic Education collaboration has finally borne fruit, as the “amendments to CAPS Section 4” has been published for implementation in 2020. The following extract from the gazette refers:
“Angelina Matsie Motshekga, Minister of Basic Education, acting in terms of section 61(c)(d) of the South African Schools Act, 1996 (Act . No 84 of 1996), and after consultation with the Council of Education Ministers, hereby determines the amendments to the following Policy Statement: Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement Grades R-12, a component of the National Curriculum Statement, Grades R-12 approved as National Policy and published in Government Gazette 34600, Notices 722 and 723 of 12 September 2011.”
Kindly receive attached gazette and the link(below) to the amended Section 4 of CAPS for the Foundation, Intermediate, Senior and FET Phases. Please note that Technology is not included in the pack because it still needs to be corrected.
