Dear valued NAPTOSA educator, NAPTOSA is well aware of the fact that you can hardly claim to be rested. It may seem as though we have had a long weekend with all sorts of festivities taking place, and now we are back at school, facing two-and-a-half months of teaching, assessment, extra-curricular activities and not to mention lots of staff meetings and roadshows! It is understandable that perhaps our enthusiasm is not at the level it should be when considering what we have to get through.

Think for a moment that your face, your smile, your mere presence in the classroom is what some of our children have longed to see! You are the person a child has missed terribly this past month. It is undoubtedly the case for many learners in this country that school, and the environment you provide is the safest and happiest place for them. So, as we may be lamenting our short holiday, be reminded of why we became teachers and let us embrace this early in 2019 by giving our utmost effort, patience and perseverance!
